Almost 175,000 toy jewelry kits have been recalled due to high amounts of lead. The Cra-Z-Jewelz Gem Creations kits, made by LaRose Industries, have a slider bracelet which contains the lead. The Creations kit recall has three different versions: the Shimmer N’ Sparkle Cra-Z-Art Cra-Z-Jewelz Gem Creations Ultimate Gem Machine, the My Look Cra-Z-Art Cra-Z-Jewelz Gem Creations Ultimate Gem Machine, and the refill kit Shimmer N’ Sparkle Cra-Z-Art Cra-Z-Jewelz Gem Creations Gem Charm and Slider Bracelets. The UPC codes are 884920174504, 884920174849, and 884920466340. The products were imported from China. Lead is toxic if ingested, can have devastating effects on children, and can cause brain damage, according to the CPSC. No injuries have been reported to the commission. The toy kits are sold at Kmart, Toys R Us, Walmart, Target, and other popular retail chains. If your child has one of these kids, CPSC officials said to take the product away and contact LaRose Industries for a refund. To do this, call (855) 345-4693, email firstname.lastname@example.org, or go to the website at www.laroseindustries.com and click on recalls.
