Alabama Court of Civil Appeals Judge Tommy Bryan, a Montgomery Republican, announced last month that he too is running for a spot on the Alabama Supreme Court. Judge Bryan announced his intentions on September 21st at the state’s judicial building. The Crenshaw County native is currently serving his second term on the civil appeals court. He will run for the seat held by Justice Thomas Woodall, who is not running for another term.
Judge Bryan has served as a special sitting state Supreme Court justice and was a staff attorney for the Alabama Court of Criminal Appeals. His experience includes serving as Assistant Attorney General in the environmental department. Judge Bryan is a former member of the State Republican Executive Committee and the Montgomery County Republican Executive Committee, having served as president of the Montgomery Republican Club from 2002 to 2003.
