A Huge Difference In The Two Candidates And Their Parties
While a huge difference exists between the two candidates for president this year, there is one that is about as wide as it gets. That deals with who is running their respective campaigns and who all is financing the candidates. As has been reported and documented, Senator McCain is tied to the special interest lobbyists in Washington and that is a matter of record. They are calling the shots for the GOP nominee’s campaign and raising money from the rich and powerful for their candidate. On the other hand, Senator Obama has made it clear that he will not accept one dime from Washington lobbyists or any political action committee and that is great news. Neither will the National Democratic Party and that is even better news.
This has sent shockwaves through Washington and especially on K Street. The lobbyists see the handwriting on the wall – they will soon be losing control of what happens in the White House and in Congress – and I expect them to pour on the coal for the McCain campaign in an effort to keep their grip on our nation’s capital. In my opinion, shutting lobbyists out of the political process and letting ordinary folks in is long overdue and a most welcome happening. It will allow the next President and the next Congress to do the “people’s business” for a change!
