Mike Crow is a lawyer in our Personal Injury and Product Liability Section and he mainly handles car and truck litigation and premise liability cases. He also has a special interest in brain injury cases. Mike has been successful in litigating against the “Big Box Stores,” i.e. Wal-Mart, Home Depot and others, and he has a wealth of knowledge of their practices and procedures. He has also handled several cases against a local School Board for section 1983 violations and Title IX violations. He is also handling 1983 cases against municipal and county jails and state detention facilities for failure to
Provide adequate medical care and treatment of inmates.
Mike is a current and past member of the Montgomery County Bar Association grievance committee and has served on the committee for the past 10 years. In 2009, he was appointed to serve on the Alabama State Bar committee Disciplinary Commission. Mike is a member of the American Association for Justice (AAJ) Interstate Trucking Litigation Group, and the Plaintiffs Interstate Trucking Lawyers of America. Mike also has been selected for inclusion on the Best Lawyers in America list, and was named to the prestigious Super Lawyers list.
Mike is on the Jimmy Hitchcock Committee, which annually selects an outstanding Christian student athlete from the local community. He also is on the Executive Committee of the Auburn University at Montgomery Basketball Booster Club which is responsible for raising funds for the basketball program. Mike played basketball at AUM during his college days. He has recently been appointed to the Board of Directors for Capital City Juniors, a travel volleyball club based in Montgomery, for girls ages 8-18. Mike is also an active member of the Frazer United Methodist Church, where he served on the Board of Stewards through 2010. He recently was appointed to the Staff Parish Committee, where he will serve a three-year term from 2013-2016
Mike is married to the former Marla Taylor of Hope Hull, Ala., and they have two children. The Crow family attends Frazer United Methodist Church in Montgomery. Mike is an avid Waterfowl hunter. He also is active in Retriever Field Trials where he judges events across the country and campaigns two of his own Labrador retrievers. He is President of the Montgomery Retriever Club. Mike is a very good lawyer, who cares deeply for the welfare of his clients. We are blessed to have Mike with the firm.
LaTarsha Shepherd, an Accounting Clerk II in our Toxic Torts Section, has been with the firm for three years. In her current position, LaTarsha enters financial data in preparation for BP claim calculations as well as reconciling P&Ls totals against those on the tax returns and she researches any variances.
LaTarsha and her husband and “high school sweetheart,” Richard, will be celebrating their 10th wedding anniversary on Thanksgiving Day. They have two daughters, Kylie Sanaa (6 years old), and Morgan Jenae (2 ½ years old). LaTarsha is a graduate of Auburn University where she received a Bachelors Degree in International Business with French as the secondary language. When time permits, LaTarsha says she loves to read books and have “Girls’ Time” with her children. LaTarsha is a very good employee and she does excellent work for the firm. We are fortunate to have her with us.
Rachel Youngblood has been with the firm for five years. She is a Staff Assistant, working with Larry Golston and Andrew Brashier. In her role as a Staff Assistant, Rachel helps to investigate potential claims involving consumer fraud, business fraud, employment fraud, and insurance fraud that come to our firm from referring attorneys as well as from potential clients. Rachel also serves as a Relief Receptionist for the Fraud Department.
Rachel has one son, Stephen “Sky” Youngblood, who is 2 years old. She says he is the “light of her world.” She also has two puppies, Marley and Kane, who Rachel says are her “fur-babies.” Rachel graduated from North Sand Mountain High School in Higdon, Ala., in 2005. For the uninformed, Higdon is in North Alabama. Rachel attended Faulkner University in Montgomery for two years, where she studied Criminal Justice. Rachel loves going on new adventures with her son. Whether it is taking a road trip to historic landmarks or a trip to the grocery store, Rachel says everything is an adventure with a 2-year-old. Rachel says she also enjoys curling up with a good book, exploring other worlds and times through the author’s eyes. Rachel is another good employee who does very good work. We are fortunate to have Rachel with us.
