I have begun to wonder if the General Motors safety-related recalls will ever end. Apparently, no time soon. GM ordered dealers last month to stop selling certain Cadillac models. That was because of the very same ignition switch problem. As you may recall, GM recalled 554,328 Cadillac CTS 2013-2014 and SRX 2004-2006 vehicles in the U.S. on June 30 because of the defective ignition switches. GM issued the urgent stop-sale order on July 2, updated the order on July 8, but didn’t see fit to notify NHTSA promptly, which should come as no surprise.
