Congratulations to our own Carol Stanley. Carol, who works as an assistant to our firm’s Investigators, recently earned her Certificate of Completion of the Alabama Citizen Advocacy Institute – Traumatic Brain Injury Leadership Class 2012. She was among 20 people chosen by the Alabama Head Injury Foundation from throughout the state to participate in this four-month training program. Graduates of the program will advocate for Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) issues in Alabama including better laws, medical matters, education, insurance, rehabilitation, disability rights and more.
Carol works tirelessly for Brain Injury Awareness on behalf of her son, Jason, who suffered a TBI as a result of an assault, and lives each day with the challenges it brings. Their story is featured in the latest issue of the ACDD Advocate, a publication of the Alabama Council on Developmental Disabilities (www.acdd.org – click on Publications). Jason calls his mom his “rock,” telling the Advocate, “She will do anything to help me succeed, but it’s more than that. She advocates for everyone. It’s gone beyond me now. I cannot explain where all that comes from. That’s just how her heart is. She gives more than she takes. And I love her for it.”
We are extremely proud of Carol! She is truly making a difference to thousands of people who are affected by Traumatic Brain Injury, and their families.
