Jere White Will Be Sorely Missed

Jere Field White, Jr., died on October 3rd and he will be missed by all who knew him. The Georgia native was a founding partner in Lightfoot, Franklin, & White, an excellent, highly-respected Birmingham law firm. Jere was a tremendously talented who primarily did civil defense work and did it extremely well. His death came much too early in life, leaving Lyda, a loving wife, and three adult children. According to Sam Franklin, one of his law partners, Jere persistently maintained his positive attitude and unshakeable faith to the very end.

Jere was born and raised in a small town in north Georgia and his father was a trial and judge. He was an Elder of Independent Presbyterian Church, a former trustee of the board of Hampden-Sydney College, a member of the Board of Advisors of Cumberland School of Law, Samford University and former board member of the Birmingham YMCA. Jere was an outstanding and an even better person. Our profession lost one of our best when Jere Field White, Jr. went to be with his Lord. He will be missed greatly!
