A new study says that nearly half of the meat and poultry in the U.S. is contaminated with “multi-drug-resistant” bacteria. While experts said the bacteria can be killed by thoroughly cooking the meat and poultry, the real risk is in cross-contamination and improper handling of the protein. I always thought that folks knew to thoroughly wash their hands after handling raw beef, chicken or turkey. But in the real world that doesn’t always happen before handling other food products.
