Korean automaker Hyundai has recalled 139,500 Sonata sedans in the United States because of a defect that could create a loss of steering control. The Sonata, which was redesigned for the 2011 model year, is built at Hyundai’s Montgomery plant. It is the automaker’s best-selling vehicle in the United States and has helped set U.S. sales records and Montgomery production records for Hyundai. The recall affects 2011 models built between December 11, 2009 and September 10th, according to NHTSA.
