South Carolina has reached a $45 million settlement with drug maker Eli Lilly & Co. over the company’s marketing of an anti-psychotic drug. South Carolina Attorney General Henry McMaster made the announcement on October 23rd. The Attorney General sued the Indiana-based drug maker in 2007, arguing it had improperly marketed Zyprexa. The settlement, which is the second largest settlement deal in state history, recovers state funds used to treat illnesses caused by the drug.
