OSHA proposes fine for an Alabama company

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration has proposed $138,500 in penalties for a company located in Cullman, Alabama for 31 safety and health violations. Summa Technology, which fabricates metal container pallets for the U.S. military, has been singled out by the agency for 26 . said its inspectors found reactive chemicals, cryogenic tanks exposed to damage and the improper storage and handling of flammable liquids. Subsequent inspections found five serious health violations that included over-exposure to silica and zinc oxide fumes, and exposure to blood-borne pathogens.
